For some time there has been a zany racing series in the USA called The 24 Hours of LeMons, where a grid of drivers in rubbish cars compete in a series of races for obscure prizes. Like the Variety Bash challenges, it seems to be more about the fun than any desperate need to win.
And now, they have landed here with the first race being at Wakefield Park on 27th of October 2015.
This event seems to be polarising the motor sport community with some saying it looks like a lot of fun, and others saying that the expense and preparation involved they may as well do ‘real’ racing. We are interested in your thoughts!

Like the 13’s for $1300 drag racing challenge that happened a few years back, the idea is to take a sub-$1000 car (excluding safety gear and wheels/tyres) and show a spirit of competitive innovation. For this alone we like the idea of it.
